Nobody in the band had been to the National Mall before, so we did a little sightseeing before the show at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hotel (great crowd/venue, btw). I got to play tour guide for an hour or so in my former adopted city.

Soundcheck in the books, first show of the tour about to kick off in 20 mins. People are still trickling in to 7th St Entry. These guys are itching to play after three days of driving from Boston.

Really looking forward to seeing how they gel after a few days of nonstop playing; I’m also excited to see the Veils live for the first time.

Zipping along thru Wisconsin on the way up to 7th St Entry in Minneapolis, where we’ll join the Veils & Foreign Born. Should be a great place to kick things off.

Unfortunately, it appears that tomorrow morning’s Daytrotter session is cancelled, which sucks, but what are you going to do. I was looking forward to shooting the session, but technical issues and scheduling difficulties have made it impossible.

I hopeto get a handful of photos processed and uploaded tonight or tomorrow, so keep an eye out.

On the road. Disaster one already in the books; trailer hitch install fell through (uhaul strikes again), so we’re jammed into the van with all the gear. Destination: Rochester, where we’ll crash at mikes and get a hitch/trailer combo in the morning.

Prep for my trip. I’ll be on the road with Faces on Film for the next couple weeks, documenting the tour.
