Super Furry Animals - She’s Got Spies

Super Furry Animals operate in a very unique musical and lyrical space. I think they confuse the iTunes Genius feature more than almost any other band in my library…excepting maybe the Boredoms or some of the Krautrock stuff I’ve been listening to the past couple weeks. See below for the Genius list, which includes a ton of artists/songs I love, but seemingly at random:

Super Furry Animals: She’s Got Spies
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club: Too Real
The Velvet Underground: Guess I’m Falling In Love
Joy Division: Glass
Spiritualized: Come Together
Stereolab: Cybele’s Reverie
Mission of Burma: Dirt
The Clash: Garageland
Pixies: I’m Amazed
The Hold Steady: Sketchy Metal
The New Pornographers: The Bones Of An Idol
The Magnetic Fields: California Girls
Super Furry Animals: Death By Melody
Magazine: The Great Beautician In The Sky
The Jesus And Mary Chain: Snakedriver
Yo La Tengo: Nowhere Near
Pavement: Stop Breathin’
Blur: Clover Over Dover
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds: Carry Me
My Bloody Valentine: Sueisfine
Sonic Youth: Hey Joni
Mission Of Burma: Academy Fight Song
The Velvet Underground: That’s The Story Of My Life
Super Furry Animals: Download
New York Dolls: Don’t Start Me Talkin’

P.S. the iTunes Genius feature is remarkably accurate and I’m pretty thrilled with it so far. Takes the MusicBrainz/Pandora/Last.fm paradigms and applies them strictly to my own music library, which I usually prefer for remembering to listen to music that I’ve neglected. I like music discovery on these services, but I do more of it through personal recommendations (from the real world, wow!), mp3 blogs, the hype machine, or through allmusic.com.
