Social Climbers - Hello Texas

I’ve been kind of obsessed with the Social Climbers after hearing their collected singles on Egg City Radio. The guitar/organ sound recalls Young Marble Giants early on but they kind of evolve into a punk-funk version of Velvet Underground. The countrified postpunk of “Hello Texas” is something of an anomaly for the band, but I dig the Texas-sized neuroses and the incongruous sound effects on the track.
