RealClearMarkets - Articles - Might Google Buy the New York Times?

There are some truly interesting arguments here. If the value of the Times has really dropped 70% in five years and the alternative is a purchase and gutting by Murdoch’s NewsCorp or a similar conglomerate, would a sale to Google really be such a bad thing? After all, they have shown above all else that they are committed to the acquisition and indexing of information and culture - isn’t that what the Times’ mission ultimately is? Google has also proven time and again that they are willing to pay the best minds to do what they do best - could this be the path that reestablishes the newspaper as a “content is king” medium? (assuming it ever was, of course)
