Venom - Live at City Gardens (recorded by Black Flag roadie)
OK, this may now be my favorite piece of audio…ever. Mike played it off his iPod while driving through Wisconsin and I just remembered now to download and post it.
As the legend goes, Venom (an idiotic British black metal outfit) was playing with Black Flag; an unlikely (but fortuitous) pairing. Black Flag’s roadie surreptitiously recorded the show, then cut out all the actual music, leaving only the inane banter between songs and the intros/outros stitched together. Thurston Moore’s Ecstatic Peace label actually released this as a single, I believe. It’s worth listening to over and over.
My favorite line: “this next one’s called Buried……………………Alive!!!!!”
