Amelia during a quiet pre-show moment in Philly. After the crisis of the day before (drummer Eric quitting via text message hours before the drive to New York for a show in front of the band’s manager and some industry people), it was nice to relax at Johnny Brenda’s, an excellent venue all the way around. Great food downstairs, several small bars spread around the place and stocked with local microbrews, and a very intimate stage with a balcony dangling overhead.
Unfortunately, it ended up being a little too intimate for the circumstances, as a talkative crowd (that, admittedly, probably weren’t expecting a two vocalist, no drums, no bass lineup) interrupted Mike’s timing repeatedly. I thought it was a good show, despite the drama.
Amelia can also be seen in her own project, Mr. Sister, and was voted one of Boston’s most stylish people alongside Mike in by the Boston Globe.
