So I may have turned you onto The Big Pink’s meditative-yet-bruising “Velvet” a while back, but do me a favor and keep up with these guys: they appear to be new kings of the single. ”Dominos” is possibly their best to date, a boxy, block-rockin’ beat and a blisteringly simple cascading refrain you’ll be singing along to the second time it comes around—if you’re not still laughing at the lyric, which conjures some R-rated sex romp’s linchpin montage. Rave or roadtrip, dance or don’t, it’s way too tempting to leave this on repeat.
Funny timing - I was handed a 4AD sampler last night in Brooklyn and just threw it on. This is the first track on there. Weird.
