It’s my birthday, and I’m feeling suitably disillusioned with the state of things…but rather than throw yet another ode to 21st century twenty-something disappointment onto our generation’s pity pile, I’ll let Westerberg handle it for me. No matter how good or bad things are going, I think it’s always a good thing to resist being satisfied at all times.
Well, Happy Birthday Peter. I like to think some of us wear disillusionment well.
As an aside, it seems like nearly all of my favourite tumbltards have had a birthday in the last month. Wonder if it is a star sign thing? Yes, I am totally into that shit.
Well thank you Marie, I appreciate it…and don’t think I’m knocking disillusionment - as far as I’m concerned it’s the only sensible state of mind. Oh, and I have a hard time allowing for astrology, but I tend to believe that summer babies tend towards a certain cynical optimism due to immediate warmth giving way to New England frigidity….though I suppose that wouldn’t account for all you southern hemisphere types.
And now it’s no longer my birthday, and I’m tracking down some headphones to drift off to something weird. Good night.
