Whoaaaa….Russell Brand was in my hometown in 2007? And he did a reading at the Kerouac Festival? Right after my friend’s father, who read the “really nice saucy bit”, ie “Sex was the one and only important and holy thing in life”? What the hell? How did I miss this?
Oh and for the record, Lowell’s not a “small town”, at least not in the “small town America”, John Cougar Mellencamp sense…110,000 people, mostly generations of immigrants, 30-40% Southeast Asian. It’s probably classified as a small city, though I’ll freely admit it seems most like a big town.
