Rinko Kikuchi Starring in Film Adaptation of Haruki Murakami’s Norwegian Wood | /Film
Wow, there’s a lot of interesting stuff here. I’m an enormous Murakami fan, and I’ve wondered how some of his books could be adapted to film. Norwegian Wood is probably the easiest adaptation, as it’s a pretty straightforward story without any of his trademark oddities (talking cats, disappearing hotel floors, split brains). Norwegian Wood is a delicate, sad, sometimes funny love story. Rinko Kikuchi should be good too, she was easily the best part of Babel. Something to watch for.
